Snack (DaddyGravity?)

Snack is a sound library for scripting languages (Tcl and Python). It provides tools for reading, writing, playing, and converting various types of sound files, visualizing sounds, and synthesizing sounds in real time. I'm hoping to build some simple synthesizers, synch up with VPython for cool visual effects, and call Snack from VPython for animation soundtrack.

Status: I'm working with Kåre Sjölander, creator of Snack, to get it working on my Mac. Snack was written with Tk/Tcl in mind, so although it works with Python that wasn't the first concern. As soon as I get it running I'll whip out some scripts and start working on more tutorially-oriented stuff.

3d Numerics (asiegel)

Navigation of 3d space using the well established numerical methods. Using dynamic geometry visualization methodology via Python scripts and 'VPython? rendering.

Status: Much of the groundwork for the dynamic geometry approach has been worked out in a project well under way which I call PyGeo?. Will take some of the techniques from PyGeo? and apply them to materials focused on 3d numerics tutorial. Thinking about the resources most helpful to myself in grasping the numerics. Need to identify the right reference materials and go from there in bringing such materials interactively alive.

That Snack stuff sounds real interesting, but I'm probably more a consumer of DaddyGravity?'s hard work in that domain, an end user.

I'd like to look at the Python + Povray combo some more, also Python + VRML, and I'm looking forward to coming up with some demos that make good use of VPython?, once they finish synching it with 2.1
