Installation instructions for SilvaSampleContentTypes 0.1

SilvaSampleContentTypes is a product for demonstrational use only. Do not install it on production servers.

Before You install this product it is recommended to make a backup of your Zope's Data.fs. You may need it for easy uninstall, too.

The installation is straight forward: place the unpacked tarball in your Zope Products folder and restart Zope.

You need to install the Product for each Silva instance via the ZMI using the service_extensions in the Silva root like any other Silva extension.

SilvaSampleContentTypes requirements

This product should work with Zope2.5.1 and 2.6.x (although only 2.6.1 is really tested).

This product requires Silva 0.9 and the baseline required by Silva 0.9 (i.e. all products listed in the INSTALL.txt of the Silva product). There is one exception: if does not work with any official release of the XMLWidgets required for Silva. Instead You will need the version from the head of the current pluggable_widgets-branch in the CVS.

If You do not have access to the Silva CVS, You can download the current version of XMLWidgets by visiting the link:

http://cvs.infrae.com/XMLWidgets/XMLWidgets.tar.gz?tarball=1&only_with_tag=pluggable_widgets-for-silva_0_9_1_x

The downloaded file can be unpacked with some tar xf or the equivalent Windows utility. (Note that it is not gzip'ed, despite the suffix tells You so.)

The Silva product can be found here: Silva

Uninstalling SilvaSampleContentTypes

The simplest way to uninstall SilvaSampleContentTypes is to recover the backup of your Data.fs and remove SilvaSampleContentTypes from the Products directory. This avoids having to fix test content objects.

The alternative is to uninstall the product from all Silva instances via the service_extensions facility. After uninstalling the product You should refresh the Silva product there.

Better delete all test content objects before You uninstall; the uninstallation process does not do that for you.
