SilvaBlog 0.1 released

SilvaBlog is a simple blogging tool for Silva. It provides a nice Silva-ish user interface to manage blog articles by date and is nicely integrated into Silva so users can use Silva's workflow and editing infrastructure. It's based on BTreeFolder so it provides scalability without the need for a folder hierarchy.

Currently the product lacks some important features like RDF (RSS) export and the ability to edit comments, hopefully this will be improved in the near future. However, if you don't care about moderating comments or RDF export, it is quite usable.

Main features:

  • BTreeFolder based, so it can contain many articles
  • Articles based on SilvaDocument, so they provide a familiar interface and will allow e.g. editing with Kupu in the future
  • A nicely scalable edit interface, the edit tab is partitioned in months per year and the edit tab provides batching and selecting only a subset of all articles (selection by publication state)
  • A public overview of all articles that only shows the articles and public views of the articles that show comments and a comment form
