Organizing Content Wiki

Page owner: KenManheimer

This wiki is for discussion about concerted efforts to develop strategies, mechanisms, and frameworks for organizing collaboratively generated intellectual content. Initially, access to the site is restricted to a small group of people - KenManheimer, RaelDornfest?, PaulEveritt?, and TresSeaver?. As people concerned with organizing content (or something along those lines), the aim is to compare notes, and maybe arrive at ways we can collaborate in addressing them.

One thing i'd find helpful in launching the dialogue is descriptions of the respective participants motives concerning the topic. We may even find that the expressed topic, "Organizing Content", is not quite the right focus - while we're looking for where we converge, everything's open to rethink.

I've started to capture my own motives on my KenManheimer name page - i'd be interested in seeing each of your motives sketched out, to the extent that you have time and interest in doing so. It only needs to be as polished as you feel necessary to formulate your thoughts - in due course, i'd like to jointly develop a summary page, something like OrganizingMotives, that covers the various motivations, including ways they are and aren't congruent.

I'm also creating a comment-only WikiLog, for noting significant events in the wiki - its creation, enlistment of new members, opening to the general public, etc. It may also be useful for communication about important pending issues, etc, lets see what's needed.

For those new to Wiki or ZWiki, here are the primary orientation and navigation aids:
