Coramy, a European leader of apparel industry and first user of ERP5 , was awarded best ERP implementation project in the special edition of Decision Informatique on June, 21st, 2004. A panel of 40 corporate managers, researchers and journalists voted this award and elected ERP5 out of 400 projects, some of them based on very famous proprietary ERP solutions. They recognize the excellence of ERP5 implementation by Nexedi in a highly mission critical manufacturing environment.

This award recognizes the ability for Zope to serve as mission critical object database and application server in calculation intensive enterprise applications. ERP5 is an Enterprise Resource Planning Solution published under Open Source / Libre Licenses. ERP5 main features include customer relation management (CRM), production management (MRP), supply chain management (SCM), product design management (PDM), accounting, human resources and e-commerce.

ERP5 extends Zope in various aspects to meet the requirements of ERP enterprise applications:

  • a ZODB database containing more than 2,000,000 CMF documents can be querried with complex queries and provide persistent selections of objects and statistics in a matter of milliseconds (ZSQLCatalog technology)
  • complex reindexing of a complete ZODB database containing 2,000,000 CMF documents can be achieved at a speed of 30 documents / second in 14 hours and, soon, in less than an hour (CMFActivity technology)

ERP5 also introduces a new model for business applications which allows to use the same concepts to represent human resources, accounting, production, etc. A scientific article was published in IEEE . More information about ERP5 can also be found in Pythonlogy success stories

I want to thank the Zope community for making this possible. ERP5 relies on so many components developped by the Zope community: CMF, DCWorkflow, Formulator, CMFReport, Localizer, Nuxeo CPS, ZGDChart, MMMShop, ZMailIn, CMFPhoto, ExtFile, ZopeScheduler, MySQLDA, etc. (I hope I did not forget any)

I also want to thank the ERP5 team in order of appearance: Thierry Brettnacher, Sébastien Robin, Rogério Atem de Carvalho, Yoshinori Okuji, Romain Courteaud, Kevin Deldycke and Guillaume Michon.
