ZPTTidy

What is it?

ZPTTidy is a small monkey-patch product that allows to tidy up PageTemplates by adding another management tab to their management interface. Under this tab, the output of the tidy program is shown in case the PageTemplate contains errors.

Why?

Because we can.

Installation

Make sure the W3C's tidy program by Dave Ragget is installed and in the PATH environment variable of the user running Zope is under.

Known Problems

tidy stumbles over tags and attributes with the tal or metal namespaces. That's why ZPTTidy removes these tags and attributes before passing the HTML source to tidy. That's why this information will be lost when using the Tidy up button.

ZPTTidy has only been tested on Linux with Zope 2.6.0. Test reports for other platforms and/or patches are welcome.
