Use Case: Configure content discussion -

Actor: Site Manager

Most content objects in the CMF support "discussions" which allow site visitors to post comments and feedback to site content. When discussion is enabled for a content type, members of the site will see a Reply link in the actions box when they view a piece of discussable content. Members can click the Reply link to add a Discussion Item to the content. A Discussion Item is a document that is a reply to other content.

The Types Tool, found in the contents view of the CMF Site in the ZMI, is used to enable or disable discussability. There you can set discussion policies so that only certain types of content allow discussion. Note that the Discussion Tool implements discussability, but is not used to enable or disable it.

To enable discussion for a content type, navigate to the Types Tool in the ZMI. Select the Contents tab, which will list the content types defined for your site. Next, click on the name of the content type in the listing that you want to configure.

This will bring up the Type Information form for that content type. At the bottom of the form is an Allow Discussion? checkbox. To enable discussion for the selected content type, check the box and click Save Changes. To disable discussion, deselect the box and click Save Changes.
