Use Case: Create SubTopic -

Creating a subtopic of a CMF Topic

Actor: Site Manager

As noted earlier, Topics may be nested to provide drill-down views of your site content. You create these drill-down views by creating new Topics inside of existing Topic objects.

You can do this in two ways. You can select Folder Contents from the action box of an existing Topic and click the Add button to add a Topic just as you would anywhere else.

As a convenience, you can also select the Subtopics link from the actions box of a Topic to view the subtopics form. This form lists the Topics contained within the current Topic, along with options to copy, rename or delete subtopics. To add a new subtopic from the subtopics form, enter an id for the new subtopic in the Id field at the bottom of the form and click the Add button.

After adding a new subtopic, it will appear in the subtopic listing (note that you are not taken immediately to the Topic edit form when you create a subtopic from the subtopics form, as you are when you create a new Topic from the regular add form). Click on the id of a Topic in the subtopics listing to navigate to that topic and change its configuration.
